Dr. Patterson is a licensed clinical and forensic psychologist with extensive experience and training in clinical and forensic settings. He provides expert forensic consultation, psychological testing, expert testimony, and program evaluation.  These services include competency, risk assessment, pre-sentencing, and psychological injury evaluations. 

 

In his role as a correctional mental health expert to the court-appointed Special Master, Dr. Patterson evaluates and reviews the mental health service delivery system within the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), including inpatient hospital, residential and outpatient services, and crisis management.

 

Dr. Patterson has provided oversight and management of behavioral health services as the Discipline Director of Behavioral Health in Unity Healthcare's program in the DC Jail. This included clinical performance management and multidisciplinary collaboration, among other things. 

 

Dr. Patterson is licensed as a clinical psychologist in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia. He is certified by the Commonwealth of Virginia to perform adult competency and mental status at the time of offense evaluations.
